IACA Online Training
COVID-19 Response – Online Training Outcome
As the COVID-19 pandemic situation evolved rapidly in the first half of 2020, concern for the health and safety of our member Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Centres and their communities was paramount. IACA responded to social distancing and travel advice by postponing all workshops, public events and travel to communities.
The IACA team considered alternatives to our traditional methods of training and conferencing. To adapt to the new work outlook, we asked Art Centres to let us know how we could assist going forward into the unknown. Boy did they let us know! The Art Centres overwhelmingly embraced the idea of online training and made requests for a variety of subjects to which IACA responded to by shaping a weekly online training program to suit our members’ requests. Running from April to July, the online training program delivered by Zoom, included the topics of online sales and marketing, brand development, digital content development, photography and video training, licensing and legal matters, statistics, reporting and database training. For those not able to tune in to the live workshops we recorded the sessions and made the videos available for members to access online anytime via the IACA Members Area Website.
IACA will continue to support our members in every way we can online going forward into 2020 and beyond.
