Aurukun Shire Council is seeking applications from suitably experienced, enthusiastic, creative and organised persons for the position of Wik and Kugu Arts Centre Manager. Aurukun is located a 1.5 hour flight from Cairns and includes much of the traditional country of the Wik, Wik Waya and Kugu people. It has rare and beautiful environmental values and with the Traditional Owners, is proud of to be part of the country and traditional culture which is strong within the community.

The Wik and Kugu Arts Centre supports local artists to share their culture, through the creation of high quality traditional and contemporary art and crafts and derive an income from their creative endeavours.

The Arts Centre Manager is responsible for overseeing the many facets of both the Men’s and Women’s Arts Studio’s daily operation and the ongoing success of its artistic programs and financial growth, which involve exhibitions, sales and marketing activities nationally and internationally.

Aurukun Shire Council have engaged IACA to assist with advertising the position. Applicant Information and the Position Description containing relevant Selection Criteria is attached below and available on Aurukun Shire Council’s website
